In its efforts to make education affordable and accessible to members and their families, Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria (IMAN) AKTH has established a Nursery and Primary School named; AKTH ACADEMY. The Chairman, Academic Committee of IMAN, Dr. Abubakar Yusuf stated that the school is aimed at providing both Islamic and Western Knowledge to the families of the staff and the general public so as to become useful members of the society and good practicing Muslims.
He added that, the school has so far enrolled 26 pupils with four classes running. These include: Nursery One and Nursery Two as well as Primary One and Four.
The Headmaster of the school, Malam Abubakar Abdussalam Yunus added that, the school also runs a Tahfeez based Islamiyya section from 4pm to 6pm on week days. He called on staff to patronize the school.
In a similar development, an IMAN sisters’ forum was inaugurated by the AMIR of AKTH IMAN, Dr. Anas Isma’il.

He said, the forum aims to increase sisters’ participation in IMAN activities as they seem to be more populated than men in the hospital. He explained that, IMAN has for long looked for ways that sisters will be fully involved into the activities of the association in spite of their over stretched work due to lack of manpower. He urged them to try and overcome the challenges.
The Vice Ameer of IMAN, Matron Salamatu Musa commended the turn out as impressive and called on the sisters to contribute their quota by working hand in hand with the brothers and participate fully during outreach programs such as patient visitation, attendance to Islamic lectures and working fisabilillah during strike actions.
