A Senior Registrar in General Surgery Unit, Department of Surgery Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Dr. Zahraddeen Wada made this known while presenting a research proposal on how to find a better and new avenue of dealing with the perforation.
Dr. Wada explained that complication of Typhoid enteric fever of surgical importance are still common in most tropical countries, because basic sanitation is still very poor in both rural and semi-urban settings in developing countries.
He then called on the public to maintain good hygiene which is imperative to curb the menace. Many local factors are attributed to it such as combination of poor unsafe water and sewage disposal are responsible for the infection.
